I'm not sure I've ever had yogurt go bad on me. Hmmm ... maybe a couple times, the lid's gotten moldy and I throw it out. That's usually a solid month after the expiration date, though. Cultured cream cheese (if you can find it) is also surprisingly durable, and I'm not sure how you would tell if buttermilk was bad. It just gets thicker.

I just noticed that I accidentally used last year's matzoh for this year's passover. Whoops. Well, it's not like matzoh can get more stale than it already is ...
