You guys are awesome! I did a little research last night and decided to spring for the Grocery Gadget app...so far I'm still in a learning curve, but think I'm going to like it.
@Mary, when I went to the app store Angry Birds was the most popular app. I think I'll skip that...I get addicted to games too easily.
Keep the suggestions coming!
btw...I'm in love. <3

I didn't understand that if you had Verizon, you don't have an Android operating system. Duh. Can't keep up. Might try contactig Alina on TOBB. She's really sharp, and very helpful with tech stuff. I know she has an IPhone.
Do you have LC? If you do, she has a way to sync it to your IPhone.....

Okay, but not all cooking related; actually just the free CI app. Photobucket. McNews Kindle ScratchPad iRoadside(rod put this on there--like I ever go anywhere) Documents2 Discovery Convert Compas CalcsFree Amortize Mobileme Rod has: Kindle Stitcher--various interesting podcasts; Piers Morgan/Egypt in mid play right now Appzilla(thru Harrison; cool and weird stuff--yes, the boy has an iphone) iFirstAid Lite ShopSavvy(reads barcodes and tells you cheapest internet price) And more stupid guy stuff Games: Angry Birds-warning-highly addictive Doodle Jump-see above you will like the phone, I think Ps...if you do netflix, I have that on the ipad; i am sure they have a phone ap, as well.

C,
I'm totally okay with ANY suggestions on apps!
I do have Netflix, but we are at the outer edge of DSL service (you're supposed to be a max of three miles from the switch, and we're 3.25 miles), so our internet speed isn't exactly stellar, hence internet-based Netflix doesn't really work that well here. You can get it, but you can't get HD.

BrewGene if you're into beer
MSecure -- invaluable for keeping track of passwords, etc. -- can sync with your computer so all the info is on both places
eNote -- best note APP; I keep a running grocery list, ideas, books, wanted etc. etc. in various categories, very flexible
the Whole Foods app is excellent, has some great recipes for less common ingredients you won't find on Bittman or CI
And did I miss the explanation about being in love?
