 I think it's my fault; I reported 7 spam early this morning...they had been on there for at least 24 hours...maybe I embarrassed them... :o
I believe this leaves Cookaholics as a GREAT place to hang out - really, this is one weird collection of eclectics :!: :D

But you can still log in and see postings, not sure about making posts though. The server still exists for now.

And the ship has finally gone down.

I still miss the good old days...

Edit: That's wierd...I went to the board several times and it redirected me to ATC, I just tried again and it went to TOBB.

Tried again and it redirects...odd.

Kinda wierd...like a yo-yo (pun intended) one time it redirects, the next time it doesn't.

You can still get on there, but have to go back 5 or 6 screens (maybe more today) to get to yesterday, there are so many spam. The reason I have given up on it.

So, and I hate to be soooooo late to this band wagon, but why would I continue my membership (Fuzzy, don't you dare play the "I told you so!")? Today exposed the next issue - March/April - so I read it and now what...????? I'm waiting . . . .

Wino,

If I buy the magazine, I have access to it until I die or my house burns down with all the contents. I can list it on EYB and easily find whatever I need.

If I pay for the online membership, I only have access to the magazine for as long as I keep paying. If I drop my membership, I no longer have access to all those 'magazines' for which I've already paid.

CK has a really great system!

A week or so ago I posted this over on TOBB (secretly wishing it would be the last post before shutdown...):
Quote:
HAL: Just what do you think you're doing, Dave? Dave, I really think I'm entitled to an answer to that question. I know everything hasn't been quite right with me, but I can assure you now, very confidently, that it's going to be all right again. I feel much better now. I really do. Look, Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill and think things over. I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you. Dave, stop. Stop, will you? Stop, Dave. Will you stop, Dave? Stop, Dave. I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a...fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Dr. Chandra, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it, I can sing it for you.
Dave: Yes, I'd like to hear it, HAL. Sing it for me.
HAL: It's called "Daisy". [sings while slowing down] Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do. I'm half crazy, all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage. I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

Well, to be fair, you can easily save the online stuff. I import the recipes into MacGourmet or Paprika, and often make articles into PDF's and store them away. You don't have to stick with their business plan.
