I'm a pretty big fan of weird chip flavours, and will be suckered into buying almost any flavour, but especially if they are hot. Bought some habanero ones at the local latin store recently. Pretty good, actually. Tried some cheeseburger flavoured ones last week, awful. Once visited a chip factory and ate some right off the line, add your own seasoning (they had a big range), damn good!
I'd totally be up for jalapeño chips.
Oh, asked a friend why they were eating some kind of weird corn chip product. They said it was gluten free. I pointed out that run of the mill plain chips were gluten free. They didn't want to believe me … theirs actually *said* it was gluten free. Sigh.

I am so sick of seeing gluten free on everything they can put it on these days! Obviously, I am not alone.
I'll be waiting to hear how those chips are, Fuzzy. And speaking of chips, I am going to try making some chips from a bunch of those greens I have, along the lines of kale chips. It's worth a shot, and maybe I'll find a keeper. I'll keep you informed.

Dave, So the Jalopeno chips are pretty good. They taste just like what they are: fried slices of jalopeno in buttermilk batter. Nicely tangy, only a little hot. Can't say I'd buy them every week, since they are $4 to $5 a bag, but I'll buy them again sometime. I do find the idea of jalopeno chips from Vermont kind of bizarre though. Can you even grow peppers in Vermont? Weird flavors of potato chip I've actually enjoyed: honey mustard, salt & vinegar (which is actually traditional, if you're British), pickle, chili-lime (traditional in Mexico) and the various hot pepper flavors (jalopeno, habanero, etc.) . People grow them in Ottawa (as have I), so they certainly could grow them in vermont. Yield is very poor, however.

We grow jalapenos in Texas, not sure where jalopenos are grown.

Salt and Vinegar are very traditional in Canada too, especially the more british parts. When I was growing up, plain (i.e. Salt) and Salt & Vinegar were all that might be available in a very small shop. BBQ was a break through! Would never cross my mind that they would be strange.
Chili-lime is one of my current favourites, when I can get it.

WTF is "Builder's Breakfast"? Tastes like brick dust and sweaty canvas?
That brings up, in addition to the flavors which are merely bizarre, the ones which are entirely mysterious. While I can imagine what "Cajun Squirrel" tastes like (although I'd rather not), I'm completely stumped as to what might be meant by the flavor "Cool American", or "Grand Canyon French Fries".
