Folks, It's time for some catalog snark again! It's on my blog; didn't want to duplicate it here: http://www.fuzzychef.org/archives/Surly ... -2010.html |

Very funny stuff. I have the coffee machine though (blush). Actually one step down from that one as even I did not see the need to light my coffee. Mary |

Fuzzy, You missed the Ravi Wine Chiller:
Wine is cooled within seconds, just as it’s being served. Simply place Ravi in the freezer for six hours before using. The shell works like a cooler and is designed to cool a full bottle of wine being served within one hour. Talk about versatility. This chiller works instantly, within seconds, within an hour or after six hours; there must be a switch to offer those options. Tim |

I mean no disrespect, but doesn't this come under the heading of 'more money than brains.' |

Parsing English is a sideline of mine ("Excuse me stewardess, I speak jive").Put it in the freezer for 6 hours. Or more. When you want to chill wine, take it out of the freezer and do whatever you do with this thing. It works instantly from the time you stick it on, in, or around the bottle. It will continue to do what it does for an hour after you pull it out of the freezer and stick it on the bottle (or stick the bottle in it or whatever). ![]() |

Whew, I almost thought I had that cooler thing too. What I do have is a sleeve that fits over the wine bottle and is supposed cool it lickity split. It has been in my freezer for years and I am sure some day I will use it. It was just a couple bucks though so that may put me a wee bit lower on the conspicuous consumption chart. Mary |

Tim, everyone: Yeah, the text on some items was atrocious; I didn have the energy to go after it all. Look particularly at the copy for the whiskey stones. It's almost timpani -salt again. Also, last I checked, one doesn't chill red wine. |

Hate to break it to you Fuzz but lightly chilled red wine is one of the more recent "Do's" on the wine snob's list. For my drinking pleasure, I am lucky to have some serious friends of the grape in my social circle but the payback is listening to little lectures about wine culture without rolling my eyes. I still never know what to get at the store though... Mary |
