Somehow when I did my marketing on Monday I spaced that this week was Valentine's Day. Thus, I have some stew meat to use, just couldn't bring myself to freeze it. I'm making yellow split pea stew made with lemon omani (dehydrated limes). House smells divine!

Spaghetti. Maybe I watched Lady and the Tramp too many times...
We are also having a lovely Amarone Valpolicella.

We're going out tomorrow night. Tonight we had Mexican: chile verde for me and shrimp with peppers for DH. I made a mess of cookies yesterday.

Well, we have a tradition of Valentine's Day Casserole, so of course I made that. It was a bit different, though, because my father is in town visiting, so we made it a non-intimate dinner and invited The Other Woman over as well. We had a Ridge 2005 zinfandel someone gave me (past its prime, unfortunately), a green salad with roasted beets and balsamic dressing, and bread with fresh pecorino. My sweetie made chocolate cream puffs with lemon curd/whipped cream filling.
Oh, also it's Beer Week in SF, so before dinner my dad and I stopped off for a Firkin Ales tasting at a nearby brewpub. Which more-or-less directly led to me forgetting a major salad ingredient.

We did beef tenderloin steaks, caramelized red onion, mushrooms, roasted asparagus and a nice super Tuscan. President's Choice salted caramel cheesecake pops for dessert with port. I was too busy to do a home-made dessert, but these were quite tasty.
