Anyone have any? Mine are: Plan more, wing it less Minimize food waste Plant a vegetable garden Love butter and cream a little less There are probably others, but these are the first that come to mind. Amy

I was going to say to order fewer cookbooks, but I want to make a resolution I can keep.

For starters: Use the cookbooks I have more Involve my children more in actual food prep Take better care of my vegetable and herb gardens then last year (dismal at best) And like Amy - plan more and minimize food waste- especially fresh vegetables.

Jean, One thing that has been wonderful for me as far as veggies are concerned are Rubbermaid produce savers. They really help me to keep veggies, especially lettuce, longer. Dave, I wouldn't even attempt to make a resolution like that... Amy

Well, you got me thinking Amy:
Try more veggie recipes, I keep defaulting to salad. Cook more with my family (not sure if that is their resolution but that is not so important) Think ahead a bit, I am getting lazier and lazier with the planning bit. More projects for the freezer, thinking tamales and curry paste at the moment. More white wine. It has gotten a bum rap in our house. More cocktails just for the hell of it.

Hmmm ...
Learn to cook more Vietnamese and Indonesian food. Cook more high-vitamin, high-fiber, low-density meals (to lose weight) Drink a bit less beer and wine at meals.

*Cook more high-fiber, low-carb meals (to lose weight and puffiness) *More vegetarian recipes from Moosewood Cookbooks. *Follow the Recitas plan for a month (once I get the book in a few days - a revamped cleanse that has gotten rave reviews from 2 colleagues at work). *And #1 is to not stress the planning/prep - just enjoy the process again!

I was going to minimize food waste too...only I opened the fresh Heritage Farm chicken I bought from my specialty butcher (just yesterday afternoon) to discover a funky smell that did not rinse off with the purge. It's the 2nd time with this brand (different butchers) that this has happened. Grrrr. $25 down the drain, as I dumped it (it was an 8 lb roasting chicken). Last time I thought I was imagining it, we ate it, and were horribly sick, so I'm not risking that again. So much for tonight's dinner, the lunches and leftovers that I had planned.
