All,
So, anybody do Chinese tonight?
We did wok-fried fish with lettuce wraps. No noodles, did fried rice instead. I suppose I should have made horse, but my local butcher didn't carry it.
You?
Anyway, hope everyone has a good 年节!

stir fried jumbo shrimp with bok choy, etc. home-made chicken broth with a Saké/soya/ginger sauce. Delish!

Not quite Chinese, but I did Pho, as is my tradition on Fridays.

Did peanut noodles tonight once you mentioned it. It's been a month-long celebration in all the grocery stores here (we have a large Chinese population), so I was confused about the actual day.

I did mine tonight, too, mainly because I got off so late last night. I did a noodle soup - a Vietnamese hot and sour shrimp soup, with tamarind for the sour, and some pineapple giving it a delicious flavor. No horse available here, either, or I would have gotten some.

That's OK; the lunar new year lasts 10 days.

I wish I had a workable/tasty recipe!!! Alas, I do not, we went out to our local pho joint (which is pretty decent, not the best in the city, but decent).

Kathy,
I can post my recipe for Faux Pho, if you want. It's vegetarian Pho.
