What a wonderful way to celebrate. I hope you celebrate 1/2 birthdays too If you are up for it, I've heard there are lovely hikes in the Napa area.

2 thoughts on the hiking idea: - They would have to be all downhill - Generally, it is about 4 million degrees F in the summer! If we are conscious in Napa, it should be with wine

If you get a chance and are near Santa Rosa, check out Paradise Ridge Winery....gorgeous Japanese inspired tasting room and sculpture garden and the wine is pretty darn good too. Also, don't miss the Oakville Grocery....great place for picnic supplies.

Wino, Yeah, please drop by! I'll be back in town by July 9. Maybe we could join you at Bouchon. Don't bet on it being blazing hot. Right now it's about 55F. It's been a cold, wet summer so far.

Congratulations on your big days. What a way to celebrate! Just got off the phone with a friend who went to Beaune France to celebrate her 20th and eat in some highly touted restaurant that just got a new chef... a molecular gastronomist. She is pretty game but this sounded like a nightmare. Goose liver topped with pickled truffles (why?) and chicken breast tartar. Something that was topped with a stabilized foam of sea water that made whatever was under it taste just like sea water. My favorite was her description of one of the desserts as an enormous what plate holding a small silver spoon that contained a liquid and a round red thing that had the consistency of an eyeball and exploded in your mouth. I am still giggling.
