So, I'm going somewhere on short notice again ... this time Vegas. I'll be there for around 48 hours, which means two dinners. I'll be on the Strip (I'm attending a conference at the Venetian). While I'll probably be going out with customer-types, they'll probably let me pick the restaurant. Recommendations? Todd? |

B & B was really good (Batali Bastianich) Sage at Aria was really good Didn't much like Mesa Grill Bartolotta (fish) These are rather pricey, but good. Off the strip, Lotus of Siam has good Thai food for less money. Have fun! |

Fuzzy, of all the restaurants in Vegas that I would like to go to and I had to choose one, my number one choice right now would be Craftsteak at the MGM. If I was at the Venetian, I would walk across the street to the Wynn/Encore. Steve Wynn doesn't eat meat, so all of his restaurants offer vegetarian selections. I was just commenting on another forum that I have yet to step into either the Wynn or Encore casinos. If you want to stay at the Venetian/Palazzo, you have a choice of over 30 restaurants from which to choose. I have read good things about Delmonicos at the Venetian on my Las Vegas boards. I have only eaten at the Grand Luxe at the Venetian and that was years ago. I will be in Vegas in 3 weeks and right now I have plans to dine at Austins for the first time which is North and West of Downtown on Rancho. I will also be going downtown to the Flame which I always enjoy plus my 50% off coupon makes it even better. |

I stayed at the Palazzo for a while and indeed there are some good restaurants there. Even the food court is pretty decent (hey, got fois gras in the food court). I loved Delmonicos, best steak I ever had. Not helping fuzzy much, though ![]() |

Good timing. I just got back from my whirlwind tour. My favorite place in Vegas was Yellowtail at the Bellagio. Asian fusion, sushi with pop rocks and kobe beef short ribs. Great service and a view of the fountains. it will impress. Plenty of fish and vegetarian options, one of our party was a vegan and she got a great meal. We really didn't have any bad food when we were there. Mary |

Recommended: * Otto (Batali), in the Venetian. Great pizza, great Italian wine list. Pics later. * B&B, again in the Venetian. Excellent if overpriced Italian food. Recommended with Reservations: * La Cave, in the Wynn. We went there because (on Todd's recommenation) everything in the Wynn has a vegan menu. Good atmosphere, good service, good place for a meeting dinner. However, food is more ambitious than delicious. Total Disaster: * Los Vegas airport. It's like a return to the 1970's. Burger King, and plastic packaged foods at inflated prices. |

Fuzzy, Looking forward to the pictures. Were the restaurants busy at the Venetian and Wynn? |

Todd, Swamped. VMworld was at the Venetian/Palazzo, and had 19,000 attendees. So the conference alone filled up all the restaurants there. |
