So my brother and I and two other friends rode to Tennessee this past weekend to Ride the Dragon. The Dragon is a road in the mountains that has 318 curves in 11 miles. On Friday night we stayed in Gatlinburg and ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp. We had a coupon for a free appetizer from the motel, so we used that for some Hot Spinach and Artihoke dip. The dip was very good. We also ordered some crab stuffed mushrooms. I am not a fan of Crab stuffed mushrooms, so I didn't try one. For my dinner I ordered Shrimp Heaven which included Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Tempura Shrimp, Boiled Peel and Eat Shrimp and French Fries for $19.95. If you wanted to order a side salad, it was $4.99 extra. I couldn't believe they wanted that much for a side salad when the fried shrimp dinner was already $19.95. Needless to say I didn't order one and neither did anybody else in our section the whole time that we sat there. I guess I'm just cheap. Here is a picture of me on the Dragon on Saturday. It was awesome. |

Every time I eat shrimp I'm reminded of the old days when we could get all you could eat shrimp for $3.99 and the kids ate free. It came with fries and a very good salad. That must have been quite a ride. Glad you made it back. fitzie |

There's a Miata gathering there in July or August every summer. Kathy's sister lives near there so her brother and I have discussed heading down several times. |

There was a Porsche gathering there last weekend. They were all staying at the same place we did on Saturday night. |

Sounds like a great ride. Can't comment about the shrimp. Sorry it was so pricey. |

The Dragon is a great ride on a Harley but an even better one on a Ducati |

Bubba Gump? Gatlinburg? My, you are a glutton for punishment. Not that I could recommend a *better* restaurant in Gatlinburg ... |

I went to Bubba Gump in Honolulu. Let that sink in for a moment. It is a culinary crime of the highest proportion to go somewhere with what was, IMO, very very pedestrian food in a place where you can get absolutely heavenly food. The things I put up with for work. |
