I really like this one. It is addictive and actually freezes well. I got it from my mom who probably got it from her friend:
Chocolate chip coffee cake (from mom) Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups sugar divided (1/4 cup separate) 2 eggs at room temperature 1/2 cup of butter at room temperature (I use unsalted butter) 1 tsp of vanilla 2 cups of flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 cups sour cream or plain yogurt (I use half of each. Greek yogurt does not work well with this recipe) 1 cup mini chocolate chips 1 TBS brown sugar 1 TBS cinnamon 1/2 cup toasted chopped nuts (I use pecans or walnuts)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat 1 cup of the sugar together with the eggs, butter and vanilla (reserve 1/4 cup of the sugar) (I beat the sugar and butter together first then add each egg one at a time)
Sift the flour, baking powder and baking soda together and add to the creamed mixture until just mixed. Add sour cream and chocolate chips. Mix completely (again without mixing for longer than necessary)
Pour half of the batter into a greased 10" tube or bundt pan. Sprinkle with a (premixed) mixture of the reserved 1/4 cup of sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts. Spoon remaining batter over the sugar mixture spread evenly with a spatula. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes. Turn out onto a rack to cool completely.

I made this last weekend at the Assisted living. Instead of a Bundt Pan I used two large loaf pans which were just right for this recipe. It only took 1 hour at 300º convection to bake. They served one Sunday morning. My toughest critics both said they enjoyed it when I sat down and talked to them last night when I was there to do dishes.

Here a couple of pictures that I took the last time that I made this cake at home.
