I made a version of these Brazilian candies for our Brazilian themed cooking club dinner last night. They were a big hit, fudgey, not overly sweet, nice kick of salt. I used a Lindt 70% dark chocolate bar and a tiny pinch of fleur de sel on top of each candy. I am going to make these again for Easter. I also saw that Fine Cooking had recipes for pistachio and coconut versions that I might just have to try as well. http://www.girlcooksworld.com/2011/02/c ... alted.html ![]() Mary |

Mary, Nice! Which recipe did you use? There was one in Saveur a couple months ago I was thinking of trying ... |

I used the one in the link from some random web site. The Fine Cooking one was similar except it also had a couple teaspoons of corn syrup in the mix. The Saveur one is more like the recipe I used. Do try the salt though, it put them over the top. Mary |

Brazilian was a lot of fun. Anything that starts with caipirinhas is a lot of fun. Mary |

Claire, The recipe I used is the one in the link in my original post. They were really tasty, much better than I expected them to be. They are also very easy, you just have to be patient in letting them cook down. Welcome! Mary |

Made some more chocolate PLUS coconut. They are also seriously good. May be time for an intervention. Mary Although my husband took a bite of one of the chocolates and spit it out! |
