FYI, I went out last weekend to Santa Rosa island. Yours truly scored a white sea bass! Maybe 15 pounds, all wet.

BTW, Frank - in the middle of this thread you mentioned a fishing expedition to hallowed grounds (i.e., restricted access, etc.) - WHAT HAPPENED?

Out camping with friends who fish this past weekend-Kyle (7) caught dozens of bluegills under 3" long. Every one made him ecstatic. They did eventually get three or four big enough to cook up, and they were tasty. I was happy just paddling the canoe around the lake with a kid as passenger.

There are few things as satisfying as the glee of a child catching fish...size has nothing to do with it. Thanks for sharing the moment...brought back many such memories...

Frank, I agree. My two went out while we were camping w/ hubby and another dad and son. they spent 5 hours out on Lake Huron fishing, didn't catch anything big enough to eat but they had a ball. I went into small towns looking at antique stores with the other mom.

This month's WHOPPER was scored from the Goleta Beach public pier. Maybe 15 grams, all wet. (Note the lucky fishing shirt!)
