Sweetie recently borrowed the book Cakespy from the library. After she started reading me some of the recipes from the cookbook, I came to two possible conclusions: 1. The book is a terrorist plot intended to destroy American taste buds and our desire for the finer things in life. 2. It's a reverse psychology tome designed to eradicate Type II Diabetes by making everyone afraid of dessert. Either way, once you read this, you will never think of dessert in the same way again. Some recipe highlights:
And my personal favorite: Cadbury Cream Eggs Benedict The infamous Kwanzaa Cake wasn't in this book just because it didn't have enough sugar in it. Do borrow this book from your local library and give it a read. But not while drinking anything, and definitely not on an upset stomach! |

Blechhhhh! Those sound nauseating. And I feel nauseous just thinking about them. The folks who think that is the epitome of baking would never find a cheese plate to finish dinner a reasonable idea. |

As one parent of a terrorist martyr said to another parent of a terrorist martyr with a deep sigh..."they blow up so quickly, don't they?... |

I think its part of this kind of "anti-foodie" movement, with a dash of "anti-healthy" thrown in. Sort of low-brow cooking to stick it to the snobs who like fine food. |

I took a look at the book preview and didn't see anything I wanted to make (and seriously, who needs a recipe to put frositng in between graham crackers)....but the idea of using oreos for smores is interesting (although not in a microwave). May need to pack some for camping next year. |
