last two seasons have been low, esp. two summers ago, due to heat. Now they are coming in almost faster than I can pick them. I'll have a lull in a few weeks, due to an 11 day spell of heat, after which I saw absolutely no flowers, but they caught up fast!
Anyone else getting tomatoes, or anything else? Next weekend I uncover my peppers for the last time (the bugs are gone now, but just to be safe), and then I will be busy!

Dave,
Don't want to hear it. The California tomato crop has been pathetic.

I have a good number of nice ripe ones. Alas, the previous owners didn't stake or cage the masses of tomato plants they in, so I have an equal number that are rotting into the ground. In fact, I have enough that I am bringing them into work. Local, seasonal, grown without chemicals. They may even pay me for them!

I only put out cherry tomatoes this year and so far have had three lousy little ripe tomatoes. Plenty of green ones but they aren't ripening. If they ever do, the skins will probably be so tough as to be inedible. Fortunately there's a wonderful tomato man at the local farmer's market. Have to be there before 7:00 am when he runs out. This is a lousy year for tomatoes here but there seems to be a lot of good corn.

This weekend I harvested 45 cherry tomatoes, 9 cucumbers and 1 jalapeno. Yes, its going to be a good year for the tomatoes and cukes but the eggplant isn't looking too promising. Nance

I have been picking cherry tomatoes for weeks, but my plants are pale Green instead of the intense Green they should be. They are in a planter. Do I need to add some food or something else. They get water everyday.

We're having the best tomato season I can remember. Picked 5 nice ones tonight. This is the first summer that I'd fed the plants so that helped a bit, I'm sure.
