Post subject: | For the gardeners here already getting their seeds together |
I just finished doing an inventory on ALL of my seeds, and separating them into this year's seeds, seeds I may grow again, and seeds for trade (I got almost all of my new varieties this season by trade!). Some of the seeds are fairly old, but I actually threw out the oldest ones, esp. of varieties that don't keep. If anyone sees anything interesting in here, let me know. It doesn't have to be in the trade lists - I have a generous amount of a lot of them, esp. the greens, as those seeds are small! BTW, though you would think I would have to be a vegetarian, growing all these things, I'm really not. ![]() ![]() TOMATOES - this year's 670 variety 2013 American Original Beefsteak F1 2011 Aussie 2012 Black Cherry 2011 Burgundy Traveler 2012 Dixie Wine 2012 Gary O'Sena 2011 Green Doctor's Frosted 2012 Isis Candy 2012 Italian Goliath 2011 KBX 2011 Porter Cherry 2005 Rebel Yell - pink cross 2012 Sunsugar 2013 Super Snow White Cherry 2012 TOMATOES - "maybe" varieties Favorite Holiday - Paste 2012 Green Doctor cherry 2012 Green Zebra Cherry 2012 Litchi - semi-tomato 2012 Perito Italian Paste 2012 Princess - determinate 2012 Sicilian Saucer - Canadian 2012 Vernissage Yellow 2012 TOMATOES - for trade Amish Gold 2012 Bali 2010 Bloody Butcher 2008 Chile Verde 2011 Cluster Goliath 2009 Djena Lee's Golden Girl 2011 Dr. Wychee's Yellow 2010 Golden Fresh Salsa 2011 Golden Summer 2010 Grandma's Pick F1 2011 Kellogg's Breakfast 2011 Matt's Wild Cherry 2010 Nyagous 2009 Orange Minsk 2011 Orange Sunshine 2009 Ravello 2009 Riesentraube 2010 Sungella 2009 Sungold Select II 2010 Talladegra F1 2009 Violet Jasper 2010 GREENS - Asian Brassicas Bok Choy Green Fortune 2013 Bok Choy Win-Win 2010 Hon-Tsai Tai 2013 Komatsuna Kojisan 2008 Komatsuna Senposai cross 2009 Komatsuna Sharaku 2013 Shogoin 2010 Tatsoi 2010 Tatsoi Zen Hybrid 2012 Yu Choy 2013 OTHER BRASSICAS Brussels Sprouts/kale Kaleidoscope 2012 Cauliflower Cheddar 2013 Cauliflower Green Harmony 2013 Kohlrabi Express Forcer 2011 Kohlrabi Gigante 2011 Kohlrabi Grand Duke 2011 Kohlrabi Kolibri 2013 Kossack 2008 LETTUCE Green Star 2012 Kweik Buttercrunch - cold 2011 Pinetree Mix 2011 Pinetree Winter Mix 2011 Red Summer Crisp Cherokee 2012 Red Butterhead Skyphos 2012 Renee's Marveille de Quatre Saisons 2013 Renee's Summer Lettuce Bouquet 2013 MISC. Dave, I'm exhausted just reading this list... ![]() I know one of my wishes this year was to get a proper vegetable garden going, but with all the trips I've made back-and-forth to Chicago, I seriously need to focus on work instead. May I take you up on this next year? Amy |

I'm surprised you have soil at that altitude! ![]() ![]() |

Actually, I've got clay and rock. I'm going to have to build a raised bed, and then (gasp) buy soil. Amy |

You have to look at the bright side, Amy. At least you'll have raised beds, and you won't have to lean over as much to garden! ![]() |

Dave, that list is amazing. I might take you up on your offer! I have nothing to trade you, unless you want a cat. ![]() |

Darcie, No trading necessary here - that's for the gardening forums I go on (where I have gotten many of those seeds). I don't even post any lists except those I wish to trade on those forums, but here there aren't nearly as many gardeners, and I figure somebody may see something that piques their interest, like a variety they tried and liked, but can't find, or something like that. I'll spare a few of any of the seeds, as long as it isn't something I have only a very few of, like some of the tomatoes and peppers I have gotten just a few of in trade. Like I told the guy who sent me the Trinidad Scorpion, I didn't need many, as how many Trinidad scorpions can one person consume? ![]() |

Dave amazing! I will make sure that Pete sees your list. He is considering retiring Aug 1. He needs a hobby. That maybe too late to start any thing. However, I expect he will be winding down a few months before that time. ![]() |
