Currently in use for first class passengers but the success of the technology, the water savings, and the reduced use of pesticides, herbicides, etc. has huge ramifications. Dave will drool...! ![]() https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/singapore-airlines-aerofarms/index.html |

Dave - do you freeze some of your potato rye loaves or will they keep? |

Every little bit helps, when it comes to better farming. I would be interested in seeing a cost comparison for the different production methods. |

Wino, I always freeze the extra loaves I bake, and they keep well in the freezer for a month or two; otherwise, they will mold eventually, esp. in the summer (I don't keep them out longer than 2 days then - after that, it goes in the fridge). I rarely only bake one loaf, though I did recently, to try some ajwain seeds (a.k.a. bishops weed or carom) in a loaf, in place of caraway. It was OK, but I think it would be better in a small amount addition to regular caraway, like I do with russian caraway (a.k.a. nigella or kalonji). |

Further to this technology is this story from the LATimes: https://www.latimes.com/food/story/2019-10-25/plenty-vertical-farm-compton In case you are unfamiliar with Compton - it can be one very dangerous place. |
