No, that would be the answer to the question "How are you tasting?" which would be a pretty funny question. The pedantic answer would be "Food has no sense of taste, at least dead food doesn't". Of course, even pedantically, that is an commonly acceptable use of the term 'taste'. Well, acceptable from a language point of view, if not from a service point of view.

Other hated things: "Is this your first time here?" (this is an indicator of bad things to come, friggin "team service"). The obligatory offer of sautéed mushrooms, etc, which, if offered because it was delicious and the perfect accompaniment (and in that case should be included) I wouldn't mind but it usually isn't delicious, just more profitable then the entire rest of the meal. In general I really hate the pushing of extra product, with the clearly rehearsed "would you like X" where X may be a drink, add-on, etc. Oh, and daily specials which are just regular menu items with dessert and a coffee thrown in, on top of a meal which is already much too large. And I am just getting started....
