TLC Tim, hello! I still remember that idea you had a long time ago about the bread delivery service, getting a beautiful loaf delivered to your door in the newspaper tube. Nice to see you.

Hi Lynn. I haven't forgotten the idea, just put it on hold. I actually pulled out The Bread Builders the other day and dreamed about wood-fired ovens.

I look forward to hearing what you think. And how the multigrain goes.

I like the bread Tim. I think I slightly over-proofed it as I didn't get the color or oven spring I hoped for. The multigrain is a good addition, but I think I may have added too much. (I tend to like coarser texture breads when I'm doing whole wheat.) I had to adjust my water based on the multigrain, but I think I gave it the right amount. I will try again with some modifications, but the loaves are very tasty! Thanks!

Glad you liked it Amy. How much multigrain did you use? I really like the idea, I may have to try it. IIRC, the CI recipe just soaks the cereal. Is that what you did? I have gotten erratic results with uncooked cereal, and may try cooking it. Thanks for the feedback. It is nice to know even a professional likes my recipe (a combination of Mollie Katzen and Nancy Silverton, with my own changes for taste). Silverton's original recipe actually uses cooked whole wheat berries. I thought it was too much, but if you like texture...

I used about a cup dry, and then soaked them in boiling water.

Guys, my computer has a very nasty worm in it and I can't even start it in safe mode!!! At Mom's now just to post that I didn't disappear again. I'm putting the thing in for repair Monday. Everytime I try to get on internet, it tells me that Microsoft has determined that Microsoft is not a safe place for me to visit.

Anyway, I'll be offline until mid to end of next week.
But I'll be cooking something good :D
