I attended Humboldt State in the late 60s/70s. At that time there was a very small fish store in Trinidad and one in McKinleyville. I rented a small, redwood cabin on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific very near McKinleyville . . . sigh. Also, consider trying Crescent City; despite the distance, there is frequent trucking all the time and there used to be a few fresh fish stores. I know your area well, had a girlfriend who grew up there. Stunningly beautiful, quiet, and friendly.

Yes. IMO, this is the most beautiful and just plain nice place in the world.

I think there's still a good fish market in Trinidad.

I know they have excellent canned fish; there's a place there that cans with no water/oil.
