This is my second batch of Kettle Corn and again it is too brown. I guess I have my heat too high. I will try again tomorrow. I am using my turkey fryer with the propane burner. I tried to take a closer picture, but it was too blurry.

Because I am using an Aluminum pot, I called Alro Steel and they made me an 8" x 1/4" steel disk to put over the flame. This helped disperse the heat and the Kettle Corn was much better this time. It was much lighter, but still a little on the brown side. I watched a YOU TUBE video last night and the people making the KK waited until the popcorn really started to pop before they added the sugar. I will try that tonight. I am also going to switch from Canola to Corn oil. That seems to be the oil of choice of KK makers.

At this rate Todd you'll be through that 50 lbs in no time! Looks good to me, even if a little brown. Just call it caramel corn.

After experimenting with about 5lb's of popcorn, different pots, flames, ratios of sugars to oil, etc. I have yet figured out how to increase the recipe from 1/2 cup of popcorn, 1/4 cup of oil and 1/4 cup or sugar. Here is a batch I just made using these amounts and it is perfect. Slightly sweet and salty and as White as can be with only about 10 unpopped kernels and no sugar or oil residue in the bottom of the pan.
