Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace, one of last year's picks for the Top Ten restaurants in Las Vegas by the authors of Eating Las Vegas, has purchased a 1.16-pound white truffle that was discovered on Monday in Piedmont, Italy. The cost of the truffle was between $5,000 and $7,000 and it's estimated to be able to make 100 white truffle risotto dishes. Let's hope it fares better than the record-breaking Paltrow Truffle of 2004. The Paltrow truffle ended up spoiling in a refrigerator before it was used. |
