FWIW, I thought that Chris was charming, gracious and good looking when we saw him at a book event. He seems happy and smiley and upbeat, one of those people that you are immediately drawn to. eb (always count on me for the shallow comments

That's not shallow. Telling us whether or not he had a nice ass would be shallow.

I don't think his physique is his strong point, although tall and thin are better than short and large in my orbit of attractions. It seems his personality and brightness make up for some deficiencies in the looks dept to make an overall "hey this guy is good looking" impression. But then again in all fairness, I did not get a good look at his "ass". He was very talkative. I told him I was Easy Bake from the CI BB and he gave me a blank look and was unimpressed. I must admit it was a tad bit deflating, he could at least have acted like he reads the board and recognizes some names. I have like 8,000 posts or something like that. There it is ladies, all the sordid details. eb

Next time, if you get a chance, drop your pen, have him pick it up and grab a quick peek.

I remember when I met him a few years ago, I got the same blank stare when I told him I was an active participant on the CI BB...he went on to talk about an early poster, Gandolfo (some of you may remember the "know it all")

Not that it is a big deal...but I did take note that C.K. did not write the Editorial for the current issue.
It is my experiance that many men are designed to build businesses...not run them once they have "arrived".
I think CI has reached this point...just my opinion...

It was in 2004, I think, and the demonstration was sold out. The website editor, Rebecca made some phone calls and obtained an invite for Crystal. At that time she was the Princess, daily greeter, cheerleader and salesperson for all things Cook's Illustrated and All-Clad. (Gandolf had been priced out with his love of cheap pans.) Crystal made the long drive to Columbus, thrilled at the opportunity to meet Chris Kimball. Kimball seemed annoyed that someone would pretend to know him. He blew her off and she drove back to Clearfield a "sadder but wiser girl". Crystal never let this disappointment get in the way of her upbeat handling of the bulletin board. In the following years, the web editors did extend some special favors on Crystal but the big guy was always remembered as a real jerk. Tim

Tim,
Speaking of which, it would really complete the new board if we could lure Crystal here ... anyone heard from her any time recently?
