Just got this month's Saveur. Covered this month:
- eels
- moules frites
- Zacatecas, Mexico (lots of good recipes in this one)
- Satay
- Food of Riga, Latvia
- Charleston Soul Food
Despite all that, I want anyone with their hands on a Saveur May 2011 to turn to the inside back page, the "Moment" photograph. Forget the hot dog and the restaurant owner in the foreground ... what the
hell is going on with the short black guy at the counter? What is he
wearing? What is he
doing? He looks like the cherub of meager tips.
Of course, the caption explains nothing.
