We did a dead tree sweep a few years ago to reduce our dead tree shelving by half. What I realized about the magazines is that I never really used them. I used their website at the time, and the magazines were much less user friendly. I've let that lapse, and have the few real 'keepers' in my recipe app. I now have most of my cookbooks in dead tree format, and use eatyourbooks.com to find the recipes. This is a great arrangement. I supplement it with web searches, often with 'serious eats' thrown in to the search term Going to do another sweep again soon, reduce it by even more. The number of works of fiction I am willing to re-read is very very low (With so many great books out there I haven't read, I am loathe to read one twice, same thing for movies), the last bits of fiction will go. Along with the few remaining professional books I hold on to without good reason. Soon, it will almost exclusively be art books, cookbooks and maybe some woodworking books. |

I am getting rid of all my paper copies as well. I always go online. Some magazines offer digital and print for the same price. I still enjoy paging through magazines, but now they go in the recycle as soon as I am finished. I just boxed the last too years of FC, C@H, BA, FN, and F&W. I stopped subscribing the print CI a few years back. Those issues along with the back issues of all the others will get boxed within the next few weeks I hope. Hoping Friends of the Library will want them for their book sale, but if not I'll recycle. Cookbooks going the same way as soon as I get my new bookcase which is way smaller. |

JB, Apparently nobody else wants them, so PM me your address. I'll give you a shipping total when I have it; that much is likely to be less than $15 to ship. |

When I moved a couple of years ago, I had many, many years of collected Bon Apetits. I listed them on Craig's list for free and got one response. One is all you need! I don't know what his plans were for them, but at least I got rid of them. Now I, too, have all my old CIs that I should deal with. |
