The Good Egg:
The Perfect Egg by Fisher & Park is an omnibus about cooking with eggs ... and a twist. Co-author Jenny Park is Korean-American, and it really shows in the recipes, many of which are what I would call "Korean breakfast fusion". For example, over the weekend we made these little baked pancakes in muffin tins which were then topped with an egg and gochujang and baked. A really nice little baked egg variation, and one which would work well for a crowd. While the plurality of the recipes are breakfast dishes, there are also lunch, dinner, and dessert recipes. It's a really good book, and we may buy it.
The Bad Egg:
If it weren't for the photography, I'd assume that Put An Egg On It by Ferroni had been written by a college student. Far too many of the recipes sound like novice cook experimentation, or like "here are 5 things I had in the fridge with an egg on top". For example, Spicy Thai PB&J (toast, peanut butter, jam, siracha, bean sprouts and an egg). The photography is excellent though, and there's a nice section on egg basics at the beginning. If you know a 19-year-old new cook who's just beginning to experiment, likes eggs and wants an idea book, this might be it. For anyone else, it's a skip.

One good thing about Ferroni, though: she doesn't have avocado toast with an egg recipe.

Some day I have to try avocado toast. The Perfect Egg sounds interesting.

And here I thought this was a psychology question. Perhaps we are all good eggs, but many of us fear that we are really bad eggs on the inside...except of course for the actual bad eggs who are all convinced of their own goodness.
The perfect egg does sound interesting.

Well, there goes put an egg on it! (And deservedly do for putting jam and an egg on what could otherwise have been the makings of a perfectly good satay sauce).
