Does anyone have this cookbook? Thoughts? My concern is that it contains a lot of recipes that have you use the slow cooker for 3-4 hours, which is right out. I need mainly 6-8 hour recipes since no one is home most of the day.

I'm trying to use up a B&N gift card, and it's between this, Baked Explorations and Flour by Joanne Change. (Flavor Bible already in the cart). Help me decide (and no, I can't get them all :( )

I don't have it, just the slow and easy. See that book index for the slow cooker section. From personal experience, all CI slow cooker is more prep intensive(so naturally they taste better) but it's the same as JC saying "hey, brown it the night before" then cook; but the recipes are far better than run of the mill slow cooker dump and pour. I don't have the others, so, no input.

Hi Darcie,

With some notable exceptions, most meat-based recipes are cooked from 9-11 hours whereas most poultry-based recipes are cooked from 4-6 hours.

My vote is Joanne Chang. Really good recipes. I want to make the custard filled doughnuts that take a couple of days to create. Btw, I finally bookmarked your blog Darcie :)
