I just got from the library, "Baking Boot Camp, 5 Days of Basic Training at the CIA" by Darra Goldstein. Looks really good. Will report back when I've read thru it and have some feedback. Me, Nance
I also have, not food-related but am hoping it's a good read, The Soloist, which is going to be released as a movie in April and based on a true story from Steve Lopez, an LA Journalist who is portrayed by Robert Downey Jr in the movie.

I've done the two day BBQ boot camp and my wife has done both healthy food and French cusine boot camps. Both would go back for more.
The problem with CIA courses is that the bean-counters have taken control, there is no longer wine at lunch, dinner is a fixed menu not a la carte and wine at dinner is fixed not a budget. The variety of food prepared has dropped, although the quality hasn't and there is still more than you can eat.
My wife and I would both do them again.
