I made CI Chocolate Bundt Cake...it was so rich and moist...I substituted homemade creme fraiche for the sour cream...a definite keeper!

Did this ever happen to you? I found what I thought was a good recipe. "Sour Cream Coffee Cake" from Fine Cooking 2009 by Carole Walter. The recipe had many steps which meant using a lot of bowls and I do mean a lot. I baked it off and it looked promising. Unfortunately, the cake looked wonderful but the taste and texture was off...way off. I was so disappointed...oh well, not every recipe works. Here are some pictures of the cake. I also made a delicious Chocolate Biscotti recipe by David Lebovitz...I needed to redeem myself after the cake...they were really good but I thought they could use more sugar...so did my son, Jaden...who is my strongest critic :D

Great pics, again. It reminds me that I should make some biscotti. My son loves them, too.

The cake looks beautiful, to bad it wasn't as good as it looks. It always ticks me off when that happens. Especially when, you spend a good deal of time on clean up. The biscotti looks great too. I use an Emeril recipe for my chocolate biscotti, it is very good.

I made Black and White cookies from "Baked Explorations"...for those of you who are not familiar with these cookies, the recipe originated in NYC....they have a cake like texture...the taste was good...not sure if I like this recipe better or ATK...I also found the measurement for the liquid to be off when making the chocolate icing....eating this cookie made me homesick...
