Thanks Amy. I've heard electric makes for a better oven, but it's been years since I've had an electric oven. I'll look at the electrolux as well. Am going to a couple of appliance stores on Saturday trying to get a feel as to what's out there.

Jean,
I don't have it yet.
Black enamel is not particularly easy-cleaning. It tends to show off every grease spot and crumb.

I wound up buying the GE Profile slide in - dual fuel.. I looked at a lot of different models and none of them met all my criteria. Should be here in about a week!

So, after a lot of back-and-forth, our landlord decided that they didn't want to go halfsies on a nicer stove with us and just bought an installed and Avanti. Not exactly a terrific stove, but still mostly an improvement on the 1953 20" apartment stove we had before. At least it fits a half-sheet pan.
One thing I don't like about modern gas apartment stoves is that the broiler is now built into the top of the oven, instead of being underneath. This means that the broiler element now takes up the top 2" of oven space. Who thought this was a good idea?

I'm in management now. I regularly blame engineers for just about everything.

I've had both types of broiler. Personally, I hate the drawer.
