My 5-qt. KA is dead. KA just isn't what it used to be...(yes, Lou, I know Bosch ROCKS). However, I'm considering buying a Thermomix to replace it. Jenny has one and loves it. Does anyone else have experience with it? I'll have to get it from Canada (not sure how yet), but I'm willing to spend the bucks if it does half of what they say it does.

Amy, I'm going to CT at the end of August. You could ship here and I'd ship it from there to save duty. Let me know. I don't mind...we are driving and can fit it in the van. Message me or f/b me if that's a possibility. I even promise not to take it out of the box and quality control it for you....cause I have a feeling that I'd just write you a cheque for it.

Jean,
Thank you for that generous offer! I may very well take you up on that. Let me do some research on buying/shipping/duty, and I'll let you know.

Let me just say, wow, wow and wow. Jenny is hooking me up via her friend, and if everything goes as planned my new Thermomix will ship to me early next week. Jean, I so appreciate your offer, but it seems I may be set.

So, I decided to buy a new 6-qt. KA. For the $1300 I'm saving I asked Andy to buy a Sonos 5-Play. Amy

I have, but it's $200 more than the 6-quart, and I don't really mix in that kind of volume at home, so I think I'd rather use $200 some other way.
