With CC, I borrow my mom's annual, make a note of everything I want, buy a 1 month subscription to the website, and load it all into Living Cookbook (even the pictures). I plan on doing CI soon, but I will probably need the yearly to accomplish all of it.

Hi,

Now that Cook's has changed their password, we can no longer read the magazine on-line.

I used to read the "Why This Recipe Works" sections to learn techniques, some actually new. Maybe we should have a thread sharing their findings on techniques. Is anyone interested in this idea????

Tim

KP - With the same nefarious intent  , I responded to your HAL report but it only shows as a response. It must be clicked to be seen. I suppose that relegates me to an asterisk or footnote  :D

Tim - I'd be happy to PM you my login info., let me know. :o

Ther is still a back door http://www.cooksillustrated.com/ibb/cat ... ?boardID=1 you can use to get to the site, the spammers however have found it and are quite active.

I suspect CI will either close it or the spammers will crash it soon.

Interesting, board is still up and running, and still getting spammed like crazy though it might be easing up. There have been a few new members who I swear aren't spammers, not even spammers 'establishing an identity'. Custom avatars (cooking related) and the works! Still a couple of valid posts here and there, and a few odd posts that replay to obvious spam; I'm not sure if it is performance art or what.

I'm not sure if they haven't taken it down because their consultant is lazy, stupid, poorly instructed, unethical or if it was done on purpose.

Whatever the reason that it has not been taken down, it is time to chill some bubbly to celebrate post #1,000,000. The BB is only 20,000 posts away so it may even take place on Sunday-sooner if spammers don't get lazy. Quite an accomplishment.

BTW The Advanced search feature also seems to be working for the first time in a couple weeks.
