I had to cancel my reservation and my trip to Vegas. My mother lives with me during the Summer and she had open heart surgery this week. She is 80 years old and even though she told me to still go, I know she will be more at ease knowing that I am home with her. Plus it will be easier on my siblings.

Sorry about your trip, but completely empathize with your reasons. My mother (of similar age) had major surgery last week. I'll be heading to Chicago in the next couple of weeks to see her.
God bless our Moms.

Ditto what Amy said. My mom had same (although at 60) and the more hands to help out the better. You are a good son!

I don't think I could have gone either. My dad had major surgery while I was on vacation last summer and I spent most of the time worrying or on the phone or mentally planning how I could get to PA from point x. Hope your mother feels better soon, she is lucky to have you.

Todd, You didn't cancel, you just delayed your trip. Vegas isn't going anywhere. But your Mom, well, she needs you now. Good choice to stay. I hope all goes well and she has a speedy recovery. Nance

I am going to Vegas next week and I have another reservation at Robuchon. Our reservation is next Tuesday and because there will be two of us, they will be sending out a limo to pick us up. I can't wait.

I'm thinking this is your karmic reward for doing the right thing last time. Enjoy the tour and the limo, and take lots of pictures and report back!!!
