Well, actually, I use it quite a lot in the morning and snacks, where 10-15 minutes matters and I kinda hate microwaves. But the kid does influence the need for speed.

I discovered a great way to cook bacon in the Smart, steam, convection counter tpye ovens. I placed the bacon on a folded sheet of parchment and folded half the sheet of the top of the bacon. Cooked as usual, the bacon gets crisp, the grease is contained and the oven stays clean.

Well, I use the toaster oven in the AM as well, which is why I bought it. But I don't need an 15amp countertop convection oven to heat up a TJ's aloo chaat pocket.
Anyway, I was trying to grok why old-style toaster ovens were on the wane, whereas high-end countertop ovens were such a big thing, and I think I get it.
