I love food, pretty close to all kinds of it, so long as its dead. I really love food. I'll swoon over a slice of bread, if it is a really good slice of bread. I don't think there is any pedestrian food, just pedestrian versions of it (many things have gotten horribly watered down over time). When I swoon over food, just saying you might want to consider that I might get to rapture over a few leaves of baby arugula with a bit of fantastic feta and a vinaigrette.
y'all might be more discriminating.

Just can't bring myself to eat it, yet. For example, I've never eaten live oysters. Someday I'll work up the courage!

Are you also against wine and beer, which also contain living organisms (unless used in a stew, FI)? Granted, I'm not one that's really into sushi; even though it's really dead, there can still be living organisms (AKA parasites) in some of the raw stuff, and salad is a lot safer.

Dave,
According to "the raw food people", a lot of the vegetables you eat are still alive if they are fresh. So that salad contains "live foods". Doubly so if it includes unwashed organic lettuce, of course.
Mind you, Fugu is taking "live foods" a little far even for me. Let alone that thing the Japanese do with eating a live lobster.
For that matter, I had to eat live termites once, and the less said about that the better.

I think the organisms in wine and beer are terminated, no? In any case, since it is strictly psychological and irrational, and I can't see da yeast, I am ok with it Fuzzy, less said maybe, but " had to eat"? Now that sounds like a story
