I know this sounds crazy. I am trying to find a chocolate bar (ready to eat, like a candy bar) that is lower in fat than normal.

My chocolate cravings have gone through the roof, but I really need to watch the cholesterol and fat.

Help. Maybe mainline chocolate powder and water?? :) Seriously, now does one get the choco without the fat?

You are better off eating a little bit of good dark chocolate than trying any weird low fat stuff. I have eaten bars made with older methods, so they a bit crunchy. Those bars may be lower in fat, but I really don't know.

Lynn,

If your concern in blood cholesterol, cocoa fat (butter) has not been shown to contribute to it. So you're only really worried about the addition of dairy fats to the bar, which do contribute.*

The answer to this is to eat really dark chocolate, like 80-90%, with no milk solids in it. Further, if you eat really dark, rich chocolate, you can be satisfied with a much smaller quantity. Frankly, I can't eat more than a couple squares of Rechutti or Tcho at a time.
