Wino,

You could always make some Chili Mac. Frank has never said anything about macaroni in the chili.

Some things go without sayin...

Months later and I'm still playing. We've been pretty good about only eating proteins out of the freezer. I need to make chicken stock at some point this weekend with all the bones and such that have accumulated in the freezer and i'm out of meatballs, so need to make those soon. I did add 11 pounds of chicken fingers that I made a couple of weeks ago for lunches for the kids, but other than that I've not added anything other than the big box of Kirkland baguettes, which we go through pretty quickly.
I did get a shock when we got a new upstairs fridge and the basement fridge's freezer was emptied. I had no idea that dh put a bunch of steaks and sausages down there.

Mary, Bosc pears are beautiful when sprayed with edible gold. Make a wonderful centerpiece. Also look great in a Christmas wreath.

Fitzie,

What does something like that cost? Edible gold spray, I mean.

I got some here for about 5 buck so it is probably 2 or 3 cents in the States. I bet Michaels has it. It is one of those crafty things I bought and are waiting patiently for me to actually be crafty.

I have to say that I am still cooking from the freezer. It's actually quite embarasing. I am trying to not buy any protein, but I crumbled this week when I wanted to make chili & I didn't want to wait for the meat to thaw. No beans Frank!

Hi Kathy,
I am longing for chili making weather! I think you are a life-long freezer filler!! I can't pass up a bargain in the meat dept so mine is always comfortably full.

Next time you need to thaw meat in a hurry, lay it on a tile countertop or on some le cruset that is set onto some conducting surface (not stovetop). It thaws really fast, flip once and you are good to go.

Your post reminded me to rearrange my stuff in there, the less desireables tend to float to the bottom, then just hide out. Thanks.

Our freezer is a disaster. My carefully organized compartments are all over the place. I found a bag full of cubed/marinated pork that would have been great this summer had I remembered it was there.
Since I last posted - pulled our the last of a bag of shrimp, 4 hamburgers for dinners, 1 container of frozen mac and cheese and several chicken fingers for kids' lunches, 1 pound butter, coconut, flax seed and sliced almonds for granola, french toast for the boys' breakfast, and 2 pie crusts for dinner tomorrow.
Saturday we're going to empty it and reorganize/re-inventory. That will also allow me to get all the bags of chicken bones out and make stock. They are all over the freezers!
