I just noticed on her web site that Ms. Rather has closed her restaurant. http://www.rathersweet.com/index.htmlhttp://www.urbanspoon.com/r/301/1273929 ... ericksburgRather Sweet Bakery & Cafe Hi Friends! I just wanted to let everyone know I am in no way associated with the new restaurant, Sugar and Smoke, opening in the old Rather Sweet space. I plan on doing some fun collaborations and projects in Fredericksburg, and I will keep everyone posted. Thanks so much for everyone's kind words and support. I have fantastic friends, for which I am truly grateful. XOXO Rebecca Looks like this took it's place: http://www.sugarandsmoke.com/about-the-chef/

I remember Darcie and I stopping by Rather Sweet when we were in Fredericksburg, but boy, I don't remember what I had. Darcie, do you?

I am going to be in Fredricksburg in March and I am very sad about this. I loved her stuff...especially the raspberry scones. Luckily they are very similar to CI's blueberry scones only with raspberries.

Amy, don't feel bad, I don't remember exactly what I had either. But I do remember that I wasn't overwhelmed. I also remember eating sausages and buying a nice serrated pastry knife that I still use quite a bit!. And I recall driving to winery after winery, trying to make do with just a sniff And then there was the camp...good times.

I'm with you Darcie...it wasn't memorable. Frank may be blaming my lack of memory on the wine--which not being a driver (thank you again for taking on that chore)--I partook of plenty that day. But I think it was just not a memorable bakery. I remember the kitchen store though...you and I both had a blast in there! And, I remember your knife.
The camp...I still think about that brisket.
