Todd - your table is gorgeous! We do the mixed thing all they time (Even though, I'm shame faced to admit, I have place settings for 12 in several patterns - I think it's a southern thing.)
Tim- Why are you being so mean?? I was salivating just reading the menu. What if I was there?

Hope you all have a great NYE....Todd, your menu and table look great! Tim, wish I was there as well....looking forward to going to his restaurant this Spring when I visit NYC. I am off to my Gourmet Dinner Club NYE Soiree...bringing dessert ( Choc fondue at the request of the host) and bringing the English Plum Pudding I made last year that we did not finish. Its been stored in the refrigerator (it is said to be fine a year later) with some fresh hard sauce, so we'll see if it really ages as well as we do.
Happy New Year to you all ilene
PS...Christmas Pudding does hold up for a second year. It was just as good this year as it was last year.

Todd, your dinner looked great, I love the stuff you made. Makes we want one of those cutter things.
Tim, thanks for the vicarious thrill.
I was also at party that was mostly people from my cooking club. We had had Mexican (starting with some awesome Mexican martinis and ending with a tequila shot). In between the food was awesome. I made tamales. I was worried about them as one of the couples is from Texas (and made some very wonderful concoction called Bob Armstrong dip with some kind of special cheese he brought from some special restaurant in Texas) and he said they tasted just like the real deal. I felt like I scored a touchdown. Dessert was Christmas cookies, as per our tradition.
And now for a quiet day while the enchiladas finish digesting.
Happy New Year everyone!
Mary

Todd, looks great. We went out for pizza because it's been hell at work and I haven't had the energy to cook for several days now . Regarding place settings, it has taken me some time to get past the "everything must match" mindset. Now I have a few colors of Fiesta and mix and match those at dinner. Maybe one day I can branch out further.

Thanks again! We had a great dinner and as I was putting some of my mixed up silverware away, one of my friends asks me if he could take some home and make a wind chime. Like that's going to happen. LOL

All,
We don't do a serious meal for the 31st because we typically host a non-dinner party. So we had tacos (at home), fish for me and beef for sweetie.

Todd, love your table. I don't like matchy-matchy either. My tables are always an interesting mix. Sounds like everyone had a nice NYE. We had pizza delivered - it was great!
