It's cold, alright, but inside is warm enough. I found a basement window had popped open last night when I went down to do some laundry this morning. Now about to cover it with plastic, along with the unused side door. Don't want to think about my heating bill this month though.

I'm starting scuba lessons tomorrow night - luckily in a heated indoor pool...

I did scuba one year in the Caribbean. Did okay in lessons on the beach, but when it came to actually diving...I learned I'm highly scared of being submerged under water even with oxygen.

However, you may want to know that we're dipping into the 30's tonight, and it's only supposed to get up to 50 tomorrow. So it may not be worth the trip! I think Lisa is the only one far enough south to miss this polar vortex thing.

Amy I get a bit of that even when snorkeling the first time my face goes in the water. It was a bit worse with scuba but after about a minute I was good for the day. I hope to get a lot of instruction and practice.

I'm okay snorkeling, but not submerged.

Too damn cold here still, but made it to work and back with minimum of fuss (also known as that magical experience of having your power steering & brake fluid freeze rendering those functions a tad stiff). We're on a weird rollercoaster of colder than Siberia followed by radical temperature upswings with blizzards that dump several feet of snow.

Boy howdy, y'all are validating my decision never to move to the NorthEast.
San Francisco was 70F and sunny yesterday, which is bizarre, since it seldom gets to 70 here in *June*. It's back to a more normal low-60's today, and upper 40's tonight. On the other hand, drought.
We don't have a guest room, but we do have an inflatable matress. Good luck getting a flight, though ...
