So, made this tonight: Simeon Sandwich - Seeded sourdough roll
- 1/3 cup chopped olives
- 3/4 cup high-quality sauerkraut, drained
- 2-3oz sliced Harlech cheese (Welsh cheese with horseradish)
- 3 slices of a whole red onion
- 1 med tomato, sliced
- Hot/sweet mustard
Slice the roll lengthwise and toast it lightly. Put olives, then sauerkraut, then cheese, then onion slices on the bottom half. Broil until the cheese melts and the onions wilt. Top with the tomatoes, and the top half of the roll, lightly spread with mustard. Eat warm. ... this was an experiment in creating a "vegetarian Rueben". Overall it was a success and quite tasty. So, what sandwiches do you like a bunch which are just, well, weird? Recipes?

It's not weird, but I really like Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. Just watch the Jelly, because it gets really hot and burns your mouth.

PB, Dijon mustard, sliced dill pickle, and lettuce on buttered bread, preferably well-made multi-grain, with a cold beer or milk.....

Bacon and PB on toasted bread. Or radish, butter, and salt on white baguette or country bread...

Becca, we like both and also hamburgers with peanut butter. Also peanut butter and mayo on rye bread with sweet pickles and iceburg lettuce. My Uncle Jimmy brought the last home from WWII.

I don't think this is weird but others apparently do: slices of Granny Smith Apples with Dijon Mustard and Cheddar Cheese on whole grain or pumpernickel bread.

Tuna fish with crushed potato chips, and hamburgers with French fries layered under the bun. My husband loves a jam and bacon sandwich.

Oh Jean? Have you tried the poutine at Le Cellier by chance? I know they are not traditional, but I still want to try pretty bad. 102 days! (Disney World)
