Every once in awhile I notice that in the list of registered members there's one named "Google [Bot]." I guess this is Google indexing the forum posts? Is this for use on google or does this board use Google for search indexing?

Kathy,

That's correct. You're seeing the Google search indexer at work.

phpBB, being very mature software, has a special interface for search index bots. So we're already on Google.

I always find it tickles when I'm logged in and that critter starts snooping around - could just be me, though!!! :lol:
