I was so sorry to learn about this when they announced it. I always really liked Chefs because of their free return shipping with no time limit. I had just gotten a wok In November and had ordered and returned two before deciding on the Scanpan one I kept. Plus their Chefs-branded products were usually really high quality. Apparently the same thing happened to cooking.com after Target bought them. What I read about it said that Target does that to get a company's recipes and customer demographics, etc. and then they shut them down and sell the remaining inventory to Home Goods or wherever. Whoever started Chefs and sold it to Target a few years ago obviously isn't hurting, but it's a shame for the few hundred employees in Colorado who are all out of work now.

A lot of companies are really struggling to find a way to compete with Amazon. I think some of this is them throwing some things against the wall and seeing what sticks.

I would feel better about this if either Amazon or Target had a decent selection of cookware. They don't.

That's sad. I liked them and Cooking.com too!

I'm kinda sad that I can't shop for cookware anymore; my kitchen is full!

I don't know if it was the same place (probably not), but I remember back in '76 my sister gave me a huge Chef's Catalog, about 1 1/4 " thick, and that's what got me collecting kitchenware. That sounds lkke a really big catalog, but imagine how large a paper catalog would be with all the stuff out there now!
